This kit is designed for locking the crankshaft, which is necessary for tasks such as removing or torquing the crankshaft pulley, and torquing or removing the flywheel and clutch. This process is often quite frustrating, as the appropriate tools are rarely available.
The kit includes three options: one adapter for use on the engine stand, which secures to the back of the crank and locks against the engine stand; another tool that replaces the starter motor and locks against the flywheel ring gear; and a third tool that bolts to the rear of the block on the bell housing face and locks against the ring gear.
